The Business – Finance, Ontario College Diploma program prepares graduates for exciting and rewarding careers in the financial services sector. Students will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and selling communications skills required to work in banks, credit unions, mutual fund companies, investment dealers, stock brokerages, independent financial planning firms and insurance companies.
In the first year, students will be introduced to foundational business courses in marketing, accounting, computer applications, business principles and ethics. Important studies in business communications and mathematics round out the year. Second year will move into specific finance courses that will aid students in preparing for external licensing exams such as the Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC), the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)®, Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)® and/or the Canadian Insurance Course (CIC).
Students can write these licensing exams on a voluntary basis after they complete the program. Separate registration and fees determined by the licensing association will apply and the additional registration fees are not included in the Business - Finance program tuition.
This Lambton College program is licensed to and delivered by Cestar College (PDF), a licensed private career college in Toronto, Ontario. Students that are registered at Lambton in Toronto are students of a public college and as such, will receive full credit from Lambton College for all Lambton College courses completed at the Cestar College campus in Toronto. Students who meet program graduation requirements will graduate with a credential from Lambton College.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C or U) and Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics (C or U).The admissions process is competitive and meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee admission.

Students are required to purchase the course materials for the Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) course and one attempt at the Investment Funds in Canada licensing exam for a cost of $435 in the second year of the program. This fee is mandatory and in addition to the student’s tuition.
Students can also choose to enrol in the Canadian Securities course (CSC)®, the Conduct and Practices Handbook course (CPH)® and/or the Canadian Insurance course (CIC) on a voluntary basis. Please note that enrolment in the Financial Planning & Wealth Management program does not constitute enrolment in the actual licensing course(s) offered by MAGE or the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). Separate registration and fees determined by the licensing association will apply and the additional registration fees are not included in the Financial Planning & Wealth Management program tuition.
