This Board of Governors certificate program is for caregivers and family members interested in building on the knowledge, skills and competencies to care for those with dementia. The goal of the program is to enhance the quality of life for those with dementia. Prospective applicants include paraprofessionals, volunteers with varying educational backgrounds and the general public.
The program entails four theory courses offered online via OntarioLearn.
O.S.S.D. or equivalent
Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes and be out of secondary school for at least one year. Mature applicant testing is available in the Counselling Department. The test(s) will demonstrate equivalency in required admission subjects. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext 3412.
Note: Students are encouraged to declare their program of choice with the Registrar's Office when registering for their first course. Students must declare their program of choice by the time they complete the third course in any one program. Applications for this program are not accepted through ontariocolleges.ca.
