Lambton College’s Women’s Basketball team in search of new head coach

February 28, 2017

SARNIA, February 28, 2017 – The Lambton Lion’s Women’s Basketball team is looking for a new head coach.

David Elsley, who held the head coach position for the past year, will not return for the 2017/2018 season.

John Faragher, Coordinator, Athletics at Lambton College said the search for a new head coach will commence immediately.

“We are thankful for the time coach Elsley put into leading this program and for the commitment he’s put into both women’s and men’s basketball at Lambton College,” says Faragher. “We wish Dave the best of success in all of his future athletic endeavors.”

Prior to taking over as head coach in January 2016, Elsley, a high school teacher at St. Patrick’s High School, spent two seasons as the Assistant Coach with the Lambton Lion’s Men’s Basketball team.

"I am tremendously grateful to the College for the opportunity to coach at that level for the past three years,” says Elsley, of his time with the Lambton Lions. “It's been an extremely rewarding experience and I've learned a great deal."

He plans to pursue a coaching position with St. Patrick’s Senior Boys basketball team.

Faragher says the College hopes to name Elsley’s successor in the coming weeks.
