Management bargaining update
SARNIA, December 17, 2021 - As the fall semester comes to a close, we acknowledge how difficult it has been. The global pandemic continues to bring uncertainty to the college sector and doesn't appear to be going away anytime soon. Labour relations bring additional levels of stress.
The CEC remains engaged in the negotiation process. We introduced terms and conditions from our November 23 proposal to improve and enhance working conditions. We have no plans to introduce additional terms. None of this activity precludes further negotiations.
As we enter the winter break, we acknowledge that this has been a frustrating round of negotiations. We recognize that bargaining is stressful for everyone involved.
We hope that both sides can see the break as a time to rest and refocus energies on concluding an agreement in the New Year. Particularly, in these uncertain times, we need to put our differences aside in the best interests of students, our colleagues, and our communities.
