Lambton College students seeking co-op jobs attended TechFest in Toronto on Thursday, September 29. Lambton's post-graduate students gathered at Steam Whistle Brewery, located across from the CN Tower, to hear from companies like Amazon and Intuit pitch why job seekers should join their companies. The event is "powered by Tech Vibes" and is similar to Tech Jam hosted by Communitech in the Waterloo Region.

TechFest is a unique recruiting event that connects Toronto’s most popular tech companies with up to 1,000 job seekers. Throughout the evening hiring company executives pitched a crowd of potential employees on why they're the best employer in the room. Each TechFest event attracts up to 1,000 attendees, more than 300 career opportunities, and up to 15 hiring companies. Intuit, Amazon, Brain Station, Garage Sale, Konrad, Uken Games, East Side Games, Diply, and Q4 were just a few of the hiring companies pitching and mingling with job seekers.

Computer Studies co-op student, Samson Oke of Lambton College, commented, "Lambton College was one of the only schools in attendance. That’s impressive."

Another co-op student from Lambton College’s post-graduate diploma program, Dennison Paz, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Lambton College, “We are very lucky to have Lambton College’s support and helpful advice."

Lambton College has been servicing Canadian and international students for over 47 years and has expanded to become one of Canada’s largest public-private post secondary education provider collaborations in Canada.
