Indigenous Songs and Stories | SCU-2013

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission has a mandate to inform Canadian society about Residential schools, this includes the loss of language. Indigenous Songs and Stories course will address this mandate. Recognizing the importance of Indigenous knowledge and language, this 14-week course will be delivered in three languages (Ojibwe dialect Kenora, Ojibwe dialect SSM, and English). Participants of this course will have the opportunity to explore various songs and stories intended for youth, including: - Creation stories and songs - Seasonal stories and songs - History, interpretation and meaning of stories and songs
