Environment and You | STE-1003

This course introduces important systems of the natural environment to a non-scientific audience. It will examine the impact of human activities on the atmosphere, water, land, and on the plant and animal life of our planet. Some basic scientific concepts involving chemistry and biology will be introduced. Understanding human impact on the natural environment and how we can mitigate these effects will lead to improved environmental awareness and will help fulfil our obligation as conscientious citizens to protect Canada?s natural heritage for future generations. This course is designed to encourage inquiry and will deal with basic or fundamental questions as they relate to the environment.
