Get Ready
Before the first day of classes, you will want to make sure you've set yourself up for success - be sure to check the following items off your list:
- Have you registered for classes?
- Does your program require a math assessment?
- Does your program have placement requirements?
- Do you have credits from other colleges or universities that you can transfer?
- Have you uploaded your student ID photo and considered things like parking, lockers, and residence?
Meet Your Student Success Navigator
All Lambton College students are assigned a Student Success Navigator to help with the ins and outs of college life.
Your navigator is a central point of contact who can assist with navigating the college experience, so they feel more connected, more informed, and less overwhelmed.
Register for Classes
Registration for fall typically opens in August for students. You will register for classes online on myLambton.ca after you have paid your deposit or submitted a deposit waiver.
Prepare for Success this Fall
In the coming months, you can prepare for a more successful Fall by making sure you complete the following steps ahead of time:
Check if your program requires a Math Assessment
Many programs at Lambton College require first-year students to complete a math assessment to ensure they're ready for college level math. Log in to mylambton.ca and visit the Math Department section. Our assessments can be completed online an dif you are required to complete additional math modules you can complete over the summer.
Confirm if your program has Placement Requirements
If you are in a program with a placement this coming school year, you may need to complete a number of things to ensure you can participate in your placement. Log in to mylambton.ca and visit the Field & Clinical Placements section to make sure you have everything you need to be placement ready!
In a program with no Math Assessment or Placement Requirements?
Visit mylambton.ca anyway. This is a great place to find information about student services, scholarships and bursaries, fee deadlines, and important upcoming events - like orientation.
Transferring from another Institution?
If you studied at another college or university in the past seven years, you may want to see if any of your previous courses can transfer to the program you are taking at Lambton College.
Take a look at our Pathways & Transfer page to see if you can transfer your credits.
Other Considerations Before the First Day
Residence
If you think you might want to live on campus, remember to apply to residence early. Applications usually open in February but you can learn more by visiting our residence page.
Attend Orientation
We strongly encourage all of our first-year students to attend Orientation. Campus Connection is a great opportunity to learn more about your program, services, and student clubs and activities.
Parking Pass
Will you be driving to schools and need a parking pass? Reveiw the parking rates and purchase your parking before the first week of classes to avoid fines. See parking pages.
Photo ID
Be sure to upload a photo to use on your LC Card. This card is used to access printing, labs and classrooms, and to borrow library items. Learn how to upload a photo.
