Overview
The Client Relations course develops skills in communication, customer satisfaction, and conflict resolution for successful client management.
The program is directly applicable to employment in all industries. Graduates can secure employment directly in the service sector (retail, hospitality, contact centre, business office, etc.)

Academic admission requirements can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and the Pre-Programs at Lambton College.
Prior Learning Assessment
If you believe you have an equivalent level of knowledge and would like credit through Prior Learning Assessment, please contact online@lambtoncollege.ca or call 519-479-1023 at least two weeks before classes begin.
Credential Eligibility
If you are taking courses with the intention of completing this program and earning a credential, you must meet the Admission Requirements. It is your responsibility to supply proof of admission requirements to the Office of the Registrar before completing three courses in this program.
If you complete the program but fail to provide proof of admission requirements, you will be ineligible to receive your credential.

Graduation Fees
Students who successfully complete all the academic requirements for this program should submit their intent to graduate in order to receive their credential. The graduate module can be completed on myLambton via Self Service.
A graduation fee of about $75 is added to your account upon verification that admission requirements have been met. For exact fees contact your Enrolment Services Professional.
Textbooks
Textbook costs may be applicable to each course. Most textbooks can be purchased through textnet.ca, but some exceptions do apply. Students develop an understanding of customer service and the skills associated with understanding the needs of customers, meeting those needs and fostering an environment that encourages customers to return.

Students review the basics of corporate culture and how corporate culture impacts on customer service. Areas of study include service environment, organizational openness and influencing others to adopt a service culture. As a project, students learn to create a customer service culture action plan based on identifying gaps between current and desired practices.

Goods and services are no longer adequate bases for establishing relationships with clients because clients attach an emotional connection to the products they use and to the businesses with which they interact. This course offers insights and ideas in order to create lasting and genuine customer relationships that will withstand the competitive overtures of other companies. Students explore the process of developing and sustaining client relationships that establish an emotional connection, manage difficult relationships (such as those that take place via technology or at great distances) and help to determine the pulse of client relationships.

This subject is an examination of the contemporary Canadian business environment including the organization, leadership and management decision process which influences the behaviour of individuals and groups. Increased global competition, technological change and the rising expectations of both employees and employers have underlined the need for improved and more effective leadership. This subject provides a better understanding of this process.

This course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to management and leadership styles, and an opportunity to develop personal management skills. In today's changing economic and political climate, the role of a manager/supervisor can be extremely demanding and complex. In addition to managing the many practical aspects of a business operation, they must provide leadership by motivating, empowering, and supporting staff. Topics include leading effectively, ethics, corporate social responsibility, diversity, and innovation.

Technology Requirements
It is required that students purchase a laptop with a Windows operating system.
Internet Speed Requirements
For best performance for students learning remotely, an internet connection with a minimum of 40 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed is recommended in order to effectively use video conferencing and remote lecture delivery software as well as, other online resources remotely. Due to the large area over which students may be dispersed, we are unable to recommend a specific provider, so you will need to inquire around your area to find one that best suits your needs.

In order to access the internet and virtually-delivered software and courseware, student laptops should include the following at a minimum. By meeting the following specifications, students will be equipped to access software and courseware on their laptop through the internet:

Software
To ensure students are getting the most our of their classroom experience, some software will be required.
Lambton College has made this software easily accessible online. Students can leverage our Microsoft Office 365 software packages and services. In addition, much of the software you require for your courses will be available on demand for use on any device - on or off campus.
