Lambton College and Mitacs partner on the first ever co-funded partnership at an Ontario College to grow innovation in Canada
SARNIA, March 16, 2022 – As the centre of research and development and a driver of innovation in the Sarnia-Lambton region, the province and Canada, Lambton College is pleased to announce its partnership with Mitacs as a continued commitment to respond to the needs of industry partners and deliver comprehensive applied research services.
Mitacs is a not-for-profit organization that fosters growth and innovation in Canada by solving business challenges with research solutions from academic institutions. The organization is generously funded at the provincial level, including by the Ontario provincial government, and federally by the Government of Canada.

To ensure the success of this partnership and to assist with bringing more applied research projects to the College through business development, Lambton College is happy to welcome Mustafa Khdair to the Research & Innovation team. “This new partnership between Lambton College and Mitacs will help drive innovation forward by addressing product development and process optimization challenges, ultimately, contributing to industry evolution and economic development,” explains Mustafa Khdair, Business Development Director, Mitacs.
This partnership will work to create more opportunities for applied research projects with industry, leading to improved and/or new products and process which will benefit individual companies, as well as Ontario and Canada will benefit from economic growth, rise in employment, safety enhancement, export growth and boost to research and development activities, leading to substantial knowledge generation and dissemination.
